Door and rear windows run $200 to $450 and are normally finished in under an hour, frequently while you wait. It is the quickest thing we do. Tape the opening, drive up from Castle Hill any day of the week, early or late, and go home with real glass and a vacuumed interior.

A missing side window is not a safety emergency in the way a cracked windshield is, but it is a problem that gets worse every day you leave it. Rain gets into the seat foam and the carpet underlay and stays there. Anything inside the car is on display. The plastic sheeting drums and tears at speed, and by the second week the door card is swelling. So we prioritise these: the channel is cleared, the correct tempered pane is fitted, the regulator is run up and down to check it travels cleanly, and the cabin is vacuumed.
The less visible half of the job is inside the door. Broken tempered glass falls into the bottom of the door skin and settles on the window mechanism, where it rattles over every bump and can score the new pane as it moves. Clearing the cavity is part of the work, not an extra. Between $200 and $450 covers most side and rear windows. If you want the claim filed we bill comprehensive coverage directly, and if you would rather pay cash the figure is whatever we said on the phone. Most people arrive with a taped window and leave inside the hour without one.
“In 7:30am with broken window, out with new window and vacuumed car at 8:01am. Great price so gave a good tip ahead of time. Good work. 2 thumbs up.”

The streets running down toward the creeks are where this tends to happen in Castle Hill. They are quiet, they mostly do not go anywhere, and a car left overnight on one has very little passing traffic to discourage anybody. The result is the classic overnight rear door window, discovered on the way to work rather than at the time. Because there is no train from here that makes a car optional, the useful response is speed rather than planning: clear the loose glass off the seat, tape the opening well enough to hold to the expressway, and come straight up. We open early enough to catch you before work and stay open late enough to catch you after, and a door window will not cost you the day either way.
Same service, same price, other Bronx neighborhoods:
There is no need. Clearing the glass out is part of what you are paying for, and we would rather do it properly with the door apart than have you get most of it off the seat. What does help is taking out anything loose in the back, bags, tools, a child seat, so nothing has to be worked around and the vacuuming can reach the rails and the carpet underneath.
If the darkness is factory privacy glass, yes, because the tint is in the glass itself and the replacement panel comes the same way. If somebody applied a film to a clear pane afterwards, the new glass arrives clear and film would have to go back on separately.
